Comes a Bright Day (2012)

This was a quirky, enjoyable film, but one which left a few loose ends hanging. In the end, it didn’t quite hold together as a cohesive film for me, despite some good performances.

The action centres around Sam, a young man working as an assistant for an all-powerful concierge at a posh London hotel, but dreaming of starting a restaurant with his best friend (a chef). He ends up getting involved in a jewellery shop heist accidentally, and the bulk of the film concerns how he will deal with this situation.

It’s a kind of romantic thriller, with some good comedic moments, but the ending feels somewhat rushed and unlikely. Nevertheless, an entertaining film for a Saturday night.
