This is a genuinely feel-good film. It’s based on the true story of a group of gay and lesbian activists who decide to raise money for the striking miners. More or less at random, they pick out a mining village in Wales to support — to the initial bafflement, if not hostility of many of many in that community. It’s really a story about solidarity in the face of oppression, of acceptance, and of how people generally have more in common than might at first appear.
It’s a funny, moving, and uplifting film.
